Attention of passengers entering Uzbekistan

From June 10, 2022, all coronavirus restrictions for tourists entering Uzbekistan are lifted.

A vaccination certificate, PCR test or antigen test is no longer required at all points of entry – road, air and rail.

In addition, from June 23, 2022, the railway service on the routes "Tashkent – Samara" and "Tashkent – Volgograd" will be resumed.

Since March 16, 2022, a number of restrictions for foreign tourists have been lifted

The Special Republican Commission decided to cancel a number of restrictions for foreign tourists in Uzbekistan from March 16, 2022.

As explained in the decision of the Special Commission, this was done for the speedy restoration of tourist flows with foreign countries.

This was reported by the press services of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

All restrictions on the free passage of citizens of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan through all ground checkpoints on the border of both countries are removed. International passenger rail service between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is being resumed, as well as bus service on a parity basis, in compliance with quarantine rules.

Temporary restrictions on the movement of all persons through ground checkpoints on the border of Uzbekistan with Tajikistan are cancelled. Measures are being taken to reopen all border checkpoints.

In the near future, the system of electronic registration and issuance of electronic visas (E-VISA) to foreign citizens for entry into Uzbekistan will be resumed, and a Call Center will be created to provide tourists with services for quick and high-quality exchange of information.

Since March 1, 2022, the mask regime, restrictions on the opening hours of catering establishments and other prohibitions have been canceled in Uzbekistan.

Quarantine requirement lifted for arrivals from 11 countries

Since February 1, 2022, Uzbekistan has canceled the requirement for a mandatory 10-day quarantine for arrivals from eight European countries, as well as Australia, Israel and Egypt. In addition, communication with Hong Kong and African countries is being resumed.

By the decision of the Special Commission on Combating Coronavirus in Uzbekistan, the requirement (in force since the beginning of December 2021) to undergo a 10-day quarantine at home or in a hotel for passengers of flights from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Egypt, Israel has been canceled, Italy, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

In addition, international flights are being restored (entry, exit and entry into the country by transit flights) with Hong Kong, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Tanzania and the Republic of South Africa. This restriction was also introduced in early December 2021. Citizens of third countries who have visited these states in the last 14 days are now allowed to enter the territory of Uzbekistan.

Rules for entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan from January 15, 2022

According to the decision of the Republican Special Commission, the following rules apply for entry into Uzbekistan:

According to the protocol of the Special Republican Commission on Combating Coronovirus, all passengers over 2 years old arriving from abroad must present a negative PCR test result for a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 no more than 48 hours before the flight departure. The certificate of test results must be issued in Russian or English and issued by a laboratory that meets the quality standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Otherwise, it is necessary to pass a rapid test for coronavirus infection at airports and border crossing points. In the absence of a valid certificate with a negative test result, passengers will be denied check-in for their flight.

Passengers with a vaccination certificate issued in Hungary are allowed to enter the Republic of Uzbekistan without providing a PCR test for COVID-19.

When entering the Republic of Uzbekistan by air and rail

• Persons arriving in the country by air or rail are required to provide a negative PCR test upon registration.

• When visiting Uzbekistan by air and rail, the entry procedure is maintained without any restrictions with a certificate of vaccination recognized internationally in the fight against coronavirus infection or with a certificate of the presence of antibodies against coronavirus infection in the blood, established by the protocol of the Special Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan (with the exception of citizens of Pakistan and India).

When entering the Republic of Uzbekistan through automobile border checkpoints

• Persons entering the Republic through automobile border checkpoints undergo express testing for the antigen of coronavirus infection at their own expense and will be allowed into the country only if they provide a certificate with a negative result.

• Regardless of whether the visitor has a certificate of a negative PCR test result, persons entering through automobile border checkpoints receive an express test for coronavirus infection antigen at border checkpoints at their own expense.

• With a positive result of an express test for coronavirus infection, foreign citizens and stateless persons are not allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the exception of foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in the country.

• If a positive result is detected on express testing for the antigen of coronavirus infection, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and stateless persons permanently residing on the territory of Uzbekistan are placed for treatment in medical institutions located in the relevant territory.

• Persons arriving from countries in the "yellow" and "red" zones fill out a commitment form and will be required to observe 14 days of self-isolation at their place of residence or in a hotel. Persons arriving from the countries of the "green" zone are allowed directly into the territory of Uzbekistan without quarantine (except for those who have symptoms of coronavirus infection).

• Foreign citizens and stateless persons who do not permanently reside in the Republic of Uzbekistan are not allowed to enter the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

• Citizens entering from the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic through border automobile checkpoints need to provide only a negative test result for the presence of coronavirus infection, performed by PCR no more than 48 hours before entry, and citizens entering from the territories of other border states must pass an express antigen test for the presence of coronavirus infection.

• At the same time, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, entering and leaving, as well as following in transit from the territories of Sokh, Shokhimardon, Chungara, Toshtepa, Bunyodkor, Zhomi and Kardoshlik settlements of the Republic of Uzbekistan, are not required to pass all types of testing for coronavirus infection.

Rules for entry into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan for citizens of Pakistan and India

• Citizens of these countries can visit the Republic of Uzbekistan through the services of tour operators

• Upon arrival, you must pass a PCR test for coronavirus infection in the airport lounge

• Prior to receiving laboratory analysis, PCR tests must be placed in a hotel for a 14-day quarantine (laboratory analysis is carried out in due course)

• Foreign nationals arriving from Pakistan and India on the same flight will be accommodated in one hotel and those arriving on a different aircraft will be accommodated in another hotel

• Citizens of Pakistan and India undergoing treatment on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan must be quarantined in private hospitals in accordance with their health

If necessary, tour operators inviting foreign citizens and stateless persons to Uzbekistan as tourists who do not have a permanent place of residence in the republic are required to provide representatives of the Border Troops of the State Security Service and the State Customs Committee with a certificate with information about persons providing tourism services, and an agreement for the provision of tourism services.

At checkpoints across the state border of Uzbekistan, international airports and train stations, as a rule, it is established that tourists entering Uzbekistan from the countries of the "yellow" and "red" zones on their own, without using the services of a tour operator or travel agent, are allowed to enter the country on general terms .

In case of a positive test result for the presence of signs of coronavirus infection upon arrival in Uzbekistan, the return of the tourist to the country of residence is carried out in accordance with the current procedure for transporting passengers of the relevant airlines or other transport companies.

The list of laboratories and medical institutions authorized to test for the presence of coronavirus infection by PCR is indicated on the website of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Health in the "Covid 19 Lab" section. There are laboratories located in the Russian Federation, the USA, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
