Cyprus changes entry conditions ahead of schedule and cancels testing for vaccinated people

The Council of Ministers decided ten days ahead of the announced deadline to change the entry rules, the amendments will come into force on February 21, 2022 instead of March 1.

Passengers vaccinated or recovering from covid, regardless of citizenship and country of departure, are exempt from tests, self-isolation or quarantine. Cyprus accepts Sputnik V vaccination certificates (not older than 9 months) or Sputnik Light as a booster. The certificate of the transferred illness should be only of the European standard.

Documents will be required from all those entering from 12 years and older, and the Financial Mirror – from 6 years.

[ ! ] The unvaccinated can also fly to Cyprus in accordance with the conditions accepted for the country of departure.

The country categories will change, now there will be only three colors: green, red and gray. Arrivals from a redlisted country will require a PCR test done within 72 hours prior to departure or an antigen test no older than 24 hours, and upon arrival at the airport will need to take another PCR test at their own expense.

All passengers arriving at Larnaca and Paphos airports before the end of February must take a PCR test, regardless of vaccination status. Also, for everyone, without exception, the requirement to fill out the Cyprus Flight Pass within 48 hours before departure remains.

In addition, from February 21, Cyprus removes restrictions on access to bars, restaurants and other public places for the unvaccinated. Entry will be possible with a rapid test made within 24 hours.

Quarantine in Cyprus can be done in your own or rented property

Travelers must go to a 14-day quarantine if they test positive for COVID-19.

In the event that a tourist does not have the opportunity to go through self-isolation in Cyprus (own or rented property), they will be asked to do this in a quarantine hotel.

The costs in this case, including accommodation, meals and necessary treatment, are borne by the Cypriot side, but the sick tourist buys a return ticket home on his own.

We remind (!) The new rules of arrival in Cyprus do not cancel the existing tourist protocols, but supplement them.
