On this day in 1992, at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Basic Law of the country, the Constitution of Uzbekistan as an independent sovereign state, was unanimously adopted.
On the same day, President of the Republic Islam Karimov signed the laws "On the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan", "On the declaration of the Day of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a national holiday", "On the procedure for enacting the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
The Constitution of Uzbekistan has passed the expertise of specialists from the United Nations, the Council for Security and Cooperation in Europe, scientists, lawyers from the United States, Great Britain, France and many other countries.
